I started this blog as a way of sharing the inspiring ideas and images that come my way through my work as an interior designer. I’m constantly exposed to new artists, products and spaces that help to shape my perspective, and I’m thrilled to share them with you. The Greenwich Hotel

I recently had some clients reference The Greenwich Hotel as the perfect embodiment of their taste. Can't say I blame them! Far from a cookie-cutter chain hotel, every room was conceived by Grayling Design to be its own uniquely elegant space. Despite the bustling streets outside, there's a sense of serenity given by the architectural details and proportions as well as the layering of luxe textures and materials. I may not only use this as a source of inspiration, I'm ready to move in!

Letterpress Business Cards

I was so excited when my new business cards and stationery arrived today. The talented Sarah Mangerson, who also did my website, helped me with the design. We decided to have them letterpressed, and being a very simple design, it was the perfect touch to make them feel extra special. I just had to share!

Hide-ing Out

Winter has me inspired to layer textiles, and I'm loving the touch of chic rusticity that hides lend to a space. We were recently looking for a white hide for a project, and finding the right color and size at an affordable price proved to be trickier than I thought. After looking in person and online, we found some great options that worked within our budget at Pure Rugs and Home Decor International. I thought it might help to share our sources if you're hide hunting. Good luck!

Sara Paloma Pottery

One of my projects is in its final stages, and we are working on a layer of accessories. I'm a huge Etsy fan because it not only supports artists and small businesses, it's a great source when you're on a budget. My heart skipped a beat when I came across Sara Paloma's Pottery. It may not exactly be the budget alternative I was looking for, but I may have to splurge on a piece or two. The elegant lines and refined finishes are just perfection. Of course I'd like to buy a large set, but collections start one piece at a time, and these are worth the wait!

Shelf Style

If you're anything like me, you might be feeling the need to organize to get your new year started off on the right foot. While it's a luxury to have shelf space, many people find it a little daunting to fill their shelves in a functional and beautiful way. These images are great examples of how to accessorize shelves. Notice how they use color and repetition to make their objects appear as part of a collection. The result is a curated look as opposed to a cluttered hodgepodge of tchochkes. Like most of our resolutions, it just takes a little discipline and creativity. Good luck and Happy New Year!
